Funeral Flowers

Choosing The Correct Funeral Flowers#Why Send Funeral Flowers.

June 16, 2010, 1:25 am

No Doubt one of the nicest ways to express sympathy and respect when a beloved passes away is to send flowers. Depending on how well you knew the person that has died different types of flowers can be sent.

Generally fresh flower arrangements and funeral baskets are sent to acquaintances and wreaths, casket sprays and crosses sent to close family members. Smaller flower arrangements such as satin hearts and crosses and nosegays are normally sent by children or grandchildren of the deceased. It’s also common for business associates and friends to send vases and different table arrangements.

Generally fresh flowers range from tulips, lilies and black roses. White is an obvious choice as it signifies peace, as are blue, yellow and red. Florists can offer expert advice on all kinds of funeral flowers and can also deliver to the family home or funeral home. It’s important to ask your florist what flowers will be appropriate for your message of sympathy.

Flowers and wreaths are normally sent to the Funeral Home however if the service has already been held then flowers should be sent directly to the family home of the deceased. A florist can add a sympathy card with contact details so the family and funeral home will know who to send their acknowledgement to. You can also send dish gardens and green plants to the funeral home or even to the family which are common with work colleagues.

Funeral services and cremation services are a time for us to respect our departed loved one or friend. Expressing your sorrow and sympathy with flowers and sending a message of caring to the deceased family is important. No matter what type of floral display you send, it will certainly be well received, and is by far the best way to express your condolences.
